Though William Rebsamen is not a cryptozoologist in the sense that he actively searchers for or investigates accounts of unknown animals, he has captured many of these mysterious creatures through his artwork. As a teenager Rebsamen studied under renowned Arkansas wildlife artist Susan Morrison as well as traditional naturalist Professor William McKim and Sea World muralist Robert David Walters.

Because of his interest in cryptozoology and his desire to educate others about the authenticity of the subject as a true endeavor of science and zoology, William Rebsamen began to illustrate the possible appearances of unknown animals. He has since created original cryptozoolgoical artwork for such well known cryptozoologists as Scott Norman, Loren Coleman, Karl Shuker and William Gibbons.
